What’s Next for American Idol Scotty McCreery? College? Acting?
The answer is both.
Scotty McCreery is busy playing sold out venues across the United States with The Band Perry and Brad Paisley, but he’s also hard at work preparing for college. The country star recently told Blogcritics that he was accepted to college but is not sure which one he will attend.
“I’ve gotten into East Carolina. That’s the first place that I’ve heard back from today,” he said. “I’ve applied to North Carolina State as well. Also, Belmont University and Tennessee State. We’ll see where I end up, but we’re not certain yet.”
Since winning American Idol, McCreery has tried to stay as “normal” as possible. When he’s home it’s not uncommon to find him hanging out with his Garner High School friends at football games and music programs.
Until he’s ready to decide just where his future will lead him, McCreery will finish up his tour and prepare for a guest starring role on CW’s “Hart of Dixie.” Airing April 23, McCreery will appear playing himself. He will sing “The Trouble With Girls” during a “pivotal scene between Zoe and George” according to Huffington Post TV.
“The Trouble With Girls” is the second single from McCreery’s platinum album “Clear as Day.” Maybe we can even get ready to see McCreery return to American Idol this season?
