WATCH: The New ANCHORMAN 2 Trailer Is Hilarious!
It’s very rare when I encounter somebody who doesn’t like Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy. When I ask them what they hated about it, the typical response is, “I just didn’t get the humor.” That’s a fair point, and I’ll admit it’s probably not for everybody, but I just can’t wrap my head around that idea. I haven’t laughed that hard at a movie in a long time, and it proved that Will Ferrell is truly one of the most gifted comedic minds of this generation. Naturally, and due to incredible fan demand, Ron Burgundy is back in a big way.
You’ve already seen the first couple of teaser trailers for the upcoming Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, but today we have the newest and best trailer so far. Everybody gets a shining moment here, and it’s flat-out hilarious. So here it is:
The whole crew is back for this one, including Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Christina Applegate, and Fred Willard. We also get some new additions with folks like Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey, James Marsden and even Kanye West. Frequent Will Ferrell collaborator Adam McKay is back in the director’s chair for this one, and that is very important. Ferrell’s best work, all the way back to his SNL days, has been as a result of his relationship with McKay. The duo are also responsible for another incredible entry into the American comedy film canon with Stepbrothers, which is easily the most quoted film of the last 5 years. It’s absolutely brilliant.
The new film follows the old gang as they go to New York to take on the daunting 24 hour news cycle. Obviously, hilarity ensues.
If you had any doubts about this new film, hopefully this trailer is able to erase some of them. Ferrell and company seem to genuinely enjoy the absurdity of this series, and it’s played out for all of us to watch and admire. Regardless, we’ll all be able to judge definitively when Anchorman: The Legend Continues hits theaters on December 20, 2013. Will you head to the theater to check it out?
