Watch: David Guetta and Nicki Minaj's lyric video for Turn Me On

David Guetta2011 has been a great year for David Guetta, with the superstar DJ releasing a string of hits. The pinnacle of his achievement so far has been hit #1 single with Usher, Without You, but he’s not resting on his laurels. Oh no. Guetta returns with a collaboration with Nicki Minaj on Turn Me On.

Of course, it’s far too soon for a proper video, but Guetta has released a pretty cool lyric video for the single. Seriously, lyric videos are so much better than those awful teaser videos the industry was releasing last year!

Turn Me On plays to Guetta’s relentless hitmaking formula. That’s not a criticism in any way though – because it’s a formula that works so well! Minaj turns in a surprisingly conventional vocal performance until the last 60 seconds, when she starts her trademark stuttery-rap, machine-gunning the following lyrical craziness:

Dat-dat-dat-dat Don’t let me die young
I just want you to father my young…

Turn Me On is from Guetta’s incredibly successful album Nothing But The Beat which has shifted 1.5 million units since its release in August.
