Watch Adam Lambert and Queen rocking the stage at the MTV EMAs in Belfast!

It’s no secret that Unreality TV loves Adam Lambert. But when you add Queen to the mix, it just blows our tiny minds!
The American Idol runner-up joined forces with the rock legends as they performed at MTV’s European Music Awards in Belfast last night. Roger Taylor and Brian May are rocking a much more silver-haired look than they did in their heyday, but the duo effortlessly churned out a medley of hits with Lambert replacing Freddie Mercury.
The Queen classics they covered were The Show Must Go On, We Are The Champions and We Will Rock You. Lambert was rocking a long black trenchcoat and his trademark enormous jet-black quiff. And loads of the guyliner, obviously. We can only assume that there’ll be a shortage of mascara in Belfast for the next week or so.
Anyway, we know Lambert has his detractors out there, but you can’t deny he’s one of the only rock singers out there who can do Freddie Mercury any justice. Adam may not be quite as flamboyant as Queen’s original frontman (give him time!), but he’s so vocally compatible with Mercury’s astounding vocal range. If we had one minor criticism, it’s that the tempo of the songs was a little bit plodding – we needed more high octane rocking. But overall? We’re just waiting for the press release that says Lambert is joining May and Taylor for a world tour! Tickets for Queenbert, anyone?
Queen were there to accept MTV’s Global Rock Icons award. And though we’ve sometimes disagreed with some of Brian May and Roger Taylor’s decisions, it’s amazing that they’ve kept the Queen name alive 20 years after Mercury died. Congratulations, guys!

Queenbert Love it!!
