Carly Rose Soneclar chose to dedicate her Thanksgiving performance to her older brother on The X Factor USA. The 13-year-old explained that he is her rock and a constant support system no matter what she goes through in life.

When she took stage with “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” I was a bit nervous that the song would be too small for her, but Carly managed to take this song and make it her own. It’s a simple song that everyone knows, but she added a sultry spice to this classic. Big notes were generously places throughout the arrangement in only the most appropriate places. It’s one of those moments the judges will refer to all season.

• L.A. Reid: Carly Rose, wow girl. You are an absolute force of nature. I don’t know where it comes from.
• Demi Lovato: I need to see a school i.d. or something because I don’t believe that you’re only 13.. you’re just amazing. You’re going to be around in this music industry the rest of your life.
• Simon Cowell: I’ve got to tell you, I’ve heard that song a lot of times. That was one of the best versions of it I have ever heard. Seriously, amazing.. I think you just blew this competition wide open.
• Britney Spears: I will never get over the fact that you are 13. It’s unreal.

Unreality Rating: 10/10 .. I will be surprised if Carly Rose Soneclar does not grab the number one spot this week. Her voice is so unique and she has absolute control over it. Her performance was pleasant to listen to, creative and memorable.
