The Voice Season 4: The Morgan Twins once auditioned for American Idol
Cara and Rhian Morgan auditioned for The Voice under the moniker The Morgan Twins. The duo represent the first time a set of twins has appeared on the show. Both ladies were fully intending to stun the judges with their curvacious figures wrapped up in eyecatching tight red dresses.
But…did you know that the girls once auditioned for American Idol? That’s right. This wasn’t the first time the twin sisters had performed Alicia Keys’ Fallin’ for a panel of judges. Check out this video of the Morgan Twins auditioning for the original American Idol panel!
Now, if you heard their version of Fallin’ last night on The Voice, you’ll know those are blonder, curvier and their harmonies are very much improved since then!
Check out their performance:
What can we say about the performance? It was exquisite. Clearly these girls gel very well together – they even mirror each other’s sentences! The fact that Blake Shelton and Usher turned around before they’d finished singing the first line should tell you how good this was. It wasn’t long before Adam Levine followed them, and though Shakira deliberated for longer, she eventually turned her chair too.
Blake Shelton described the experience as “a dream come true for most…men”.
- Blake Shelton: I hit my button before I even knew there was a duo happening up there. There were just some really cool runs and just some great singing. And then to turn around and see y’all like a Doublemint commercial? Congratulations for making it on The Voice.
- Adam LevineThis is the most surreal thing I’ve ever seen. These guys look at me like “You should turn around…” When I was listening to your unison notes, I was like “That’s like DNA.” Major unique points on the whole thing here.
While Adam and Blake went for critique, ambitious new judges Shakira and Usher went for the hard sell, pushing hard for the twins to join their respective teams. However, the Morgan girls ultimately decided to go with Blake. Which might be a smart move, since he’s won the show two seasons in a row now.
So, what do you think folks – do the Morgan Twins have what it takes to go all the way on The Voice this season?
