Just in case you thought The Avengers movie was the superhero film hitting cinemas this year, Christopher Nolan would like to politely remind you that his Batman trilogy will be wrapping up this year too. And none of your fancy heroes in primary colours firing out one-liners either, we’re going straight into Gotham’s darkest hour.
Yep, the Dark Knight Rises trailer has hit the internets and we’re treated to a whole host of goodies. First up, there are the new villains of the piece – Anne Hathaway as Selena Kyle and Tom Hardy as Bane. And I have to point out that Bane’s audio has been worked on massively, though his voice sounds a bit tacked-on in the way the Darth Vader’s did after James Earl Jones re-recorded it.
The other day, we talked about the new Total Recall trailer that was due to come out over the weekend. Well, it’s out now, and we’ve had a chance to process some of the footage from the trailer. And here are six things that we learned from the trailer: Read more & comment »
We weren’t really all that stoked about the idea of a Total Recall reboot, but after watching their ‘teaser trailer for a teaser trailer’, well…when’s the release date?
The teaser video gives us a look at the futuristic shanty town where all the action takes place, plus Colin Farrell in the ‘Recall’ machine (which is surprisingly similar to one in the original movie). Farrell’s taking on the classic Schwarznegger role of Douglas Quaid, a construction worker who goes to Recall for a memory implant experience – and ends up discovering he’s a resistance spy whose memory has been erased.
The full official trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man has just hit the webs, and I think I just exploded web fluid all over myself! Wow.
Maybe I’m extremely easily pleased, but from what I can see, the movie looks to be a visual feast as well as providing a great basis for an origin reboot.
This guy wears a mask, like an outlaw. Peter: I think he’s trying to do something maybe the police can’t. Peter wrong-foots Gwen Stacy’s father by suggesting that Spider-Man is more effective than the cops. Looks like George Stacy is going to be this movie’s Spidey-hating authority figure.
The first proper trailer for Breaking Dawn, Part 1 has been released, promising more action than any other Twilight movie ever!
We’ve got to ask though: When Bella’s dad is leading his teenage daughter down the aisle, what’s going through his head when he sees the Cullen side of the congregation? “My daughter’s marrying into a dangerously anaemic family. Hey, I never noticed Edward’s strange, slightly orange eyes before. But it’s alright, at least he’s not a vampire, right? Those guys only come out at night.”
The Guardian ran an interesting piece today about Anthony Baxter’s You’ve Been Trumped documentary. The film follows the fight of local residents in the village of Balmedie, eight miles north of Aberdeen against Trump’s proposed development.
As much as I’ve always considered Trump to be a flamboyant but largely harmless businessman, the footage in the You’ve Been Trumped trailer shows a rude and obnoxious side to the public figure. As the trailer tells it, Trump has secured planning approval to build a luxury golf resort in the area. And despite the planning application being turned down initially, the Scottish Executive seem to have made some deft manouvers to get the deal done for Trump.
The first part of what will undoubtedly be an exhaustive marketing campaign for The Dark Knight Rises has hit the internets. It comes in the form of a 1:35 minute teaser trailer which is frustratingly content-free.
