Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson Confirmed for American Idol 2012

If it’s one thing American Idol proved this season, it’s that the show still has what it takes to be on top. Though there is still uncertainty for the show’s line up next season, according to American Idol.net, Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler are confirmed as judges for next year. Can Jennifer Lopez handle another season?

Fox’s Upfronts reports American Idol will return January 22, 2012 with the same time schedule as this season (Wednesdays and Thursdays). The only reason Jackson and Tyler are confirmed is because both judges signed multi-year contracts before taking seats at the table in 2011.  However, J.Lo only signed on for one season because she likes to work on a project-by-project basis. Her contract can be renewed though.

With the talks of her new show Q’Viva with hubby Marc Anthony (details available here), it’s possible she may not sign back on. Out of all the judges she seems to take the eliminations the hardest, but I like to think that’s part of her charm.

Filling J.Lo’s shoes could be hard, especially since she came as a packaged deal with Anthony who also worked as mentor for contestants.
