Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez Launch Contrasting Fashion Lines Just in Time for American Idol

Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler left a lasting impression on American Idol when they joined during its tenth season. Not only are the two personable, but they have a bit of a polar opposite personality. Lopez is the motherly type who is there to listen, encourage and be a voice of reason. Tyler is more the cool, crazy uncle who supports you but also gives you ice cream before dinner.

These differences are apparent as both American Idol judges launch their new spring lines.

Tyler is working with Andrew Charles (a Hilfiger offspring) to create a range of mens and womenswear influenced by his rockstar lifestyle. The lines is easily comparable to the Bohemian look Tyler’s made famous with long scarves, animal prints, denim and leather designs. Recently Tyler told the press that he’s excited fans can share his “freak style.”

The Andrew Charles line is available at Macys.

Lopez on the other hand worked with Kohl’s to create not only a clothing line, but accessories and house linens as well.  She told WISN 12 that her clothing line is stylish but modest and based on her own insecurities. As a woman, Lopez knows what it likes to feel that your tummy isn’t tucked in enough or that your pants don’t flatter your hips. The Jennifer Lopez Collection is designed for all women and her designs are meant to be sensible. Being a mother of twins, Lopez likes to wear sweaters, jeans and other items that are easy to move around in. She knows this is what the modern woman is looking for as well.

The Jennifer Lopez Collection is now available at Kohl’s.
