We’ve been waiting for weeks to see the official video for Soundgarden‘s first NEW video in fifteen years! Live To Rise is a track the band have recorded for the Marvel Avengers movie, which would explain why there’s a ton of superpowered shenaigans happening on screen.

Funnily enough, my love for this band has grown stronger over the years, with BadMotorFinger and Louder Than Love occupying a regular spot on my iPhone. It’s brilliant to see the band reunited with new material. Live To Die is definitely a slow-burn track, a mid-tempo rocker that sees the band dusting off their formidable riffing prowess for a new generation to enjoy!

And the Soundgarden news doesn’t end there! The band begin a European tour at the end of May that culminates in the Download Festival at Donington on June 10th. Three days later, they’ll be the headline act on the opening night of Hyde Park’s Hard Rock Calling concert. That’s June 13th for those of you who have difficulty adding 3 to 10.

Finally, if you’re new to Soundgarden and want to delve into their back catalogue of albums, the band is releasing The Classic Album Selection box set. This includes original A&M recordings of their four albums Louder Than Love, Badmotorfinger, Superunknown and Down On The Upside, plus last year’s live record of the band’s 1996 West Coast tour – Live On I-5. The box set is released on May 21st.
