Song of the day: Graffiti6 release new single, Free

For a British duo who formed in 2009, Graffiti6 are already making significant waves Stateside. They’ve recently stopped by Jay Leno’s Tonight Show to perform their new single Free, which is as fine a piece of pop-soul music as we’ve heard in many years. But first…
Oi, don’t I know you? Remember back when Leona Lewis released Bleeding Love, and a group called Jamie Scott and the Town did a brilliant acoustic cover of it? Well that’s Jamie Scott, who is now the lead singer of Graffiti6! Small world, innit, readers?
Anyway, even if you’re not the type who appreciates a brilliantly constructed pop tune, lady readers will appreciate Jamie’s physique, impressive cheekbones and perfect hair. Not that we want to turn him into a sexual object. Not that he’d object. Probably.
Did you enjoy that? We loved the raspy, almost Rod Stewart sound of Jamie’s vocals and that rich, deep bass that drives the tune. Follow it up by listening to Annie You Save Me, a beautifully ambient track that almost borders on dance music. It’s sumptuous, soothing stuff. Once you’ve listened to a few of their songs, you start to realise that Graffiti6 have their own very distinct musical style. Hopefully 2012 will see them bringing their music to a much wider audience.
What else can you expect to hear from Graffiti6? According to our sources, the group will be releasing their debut album Colours (spelled the British way) on 24th January. They’re also a VH1 “You Oughta Know” artist, and they’ve just kicked off a US tour which can only make them more sought after! Tour dates can be found on their official website (linked to above).
