We’ve been waiting for the new Colette Carr video to drop for a while now, and it’s finally here! Like I Got A Gun features Carr on fine, bubbly form, looking like an escaped former Disney star who’s discovered a love of rap and grinding dance moves.

The 21 year old lures us in with a sedate piano intro before shifting gear into a hip-hop beat and some drawled lyrics that Miss Ke$ha would be proud of. In fact, C-Carr seems to sit comfortably in that niche of rude-talkin’, sexually confident singers like Ke$ha and Dev. And that’s not a complaint, by the way.

The Like I Got A Gun video is all about summer fun, but more the kind you’d find at a big-name rapper’s pool party. We’ve got booty shaking, girls gyrating on cars (always a favourite), and girls with supersoakers and wet t-shirts. Definitely ticking the box for the male viewers, but will Carr’s female audience appreciate it? I think so. They’re clever enough to get the joke.
