Simon Cowell Developing DJ Competition With Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith
Everyone says that Ryan Seacrest is the busiest man in Hollywood, but Simon Cowell can’t be far behind. The music mogul confirmed he’s returning to “Britain’s Got Talent” this year as a judge, while working to perfect The X Factor USA. He’s also planning major changes for “America’s Got Talent” this season adding a fourth “younger” judge.
In between all of his current projects, he is planning to venture into new territories. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cowell’s SYCO Entertainment is working with Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment to develop a talent competition to find the next big DJ.
“DJ’s are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show,” Cowell said via statement. Regardless how you feel about techno or electronica, the statement is true. Girl Talk, Justice and Samantha Ronson are just a few artists who sell out clubs across the country. Dubstep particularly has taken over the music scene leaving no song “unmashable.”
The new show has no title to date, but has been confirmed via Twitter by the man himself Simon Cowell. “Excited to announce new DJ show. I will NOT be judging this show. Excited to be working with @jadapsmith. Stay tuned!” he tweeted.
