Ryan Seacrest Agrees It’s Now or Never for American Idol’s Emmy Award
Ryan Seacrest wasn’t among the Emmy awards 2010 winners though he was nominated for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program. However, he’s confident that this year will be the year both he and American Idol get the Emmy trophy they deserve, especially after such a monumental year.
“If it’s going to happen, this would be the year,” Seacrest told The Hollywood Reporter. “We had a transition season last year and I think there was some doubt from people [as to] what would the show do, what would it deliver, how would the changes affect ratings. But fortunately, we had one of best seasons.”
Every night American Idol drew in over 20 million viewers, that’s over 10 million viewers than the runner-up programs. How is that not Emmy worthy? If anyone deserves an award after the Emmy awards 2010 it’s Seacrest. American Idol wouldn’t be where it is today without the host who’s stuck by it from the first show. Even though he’s now a radio personality, producer and correspondent for E!, he still makes American Idol his top priority.
“We’re grateful that we’re considered every year, but we want to win it,” he shared. “It would be nice to have one Emmy that says American Idol on the bottom of it. It is important to us.”
The Emmys are just around the corner airing September 18 on Fox.
