Light Wire Theatre impress on America’s Got Talent with dinosaur-themed audition

Light Wire Theatre on America's Got Talent

One area in which America’s Got Talent excels is in bringing incredible new combinations of dance and art to the public. Last year it was Silhouettes, and this year we’ve got Light Wire Theatre.

Before the performance, Nick Cannon stepped in to warn the audience that they’d be killing all the lights in the theatre and not to be groping their neighbours. And then the Light Wire people bounced onto the stage. They seem to have custom made costumes that create the impression of lit-up line drawings. Two T-Rex’s battled it out on stage, and were briefly replaced with three enormous dancing flowers. The dinosaurs then returned to the stage.

Elements Dance Cru clog their way to America’s Got Talent live rounds

Elements Dance Cru audition for America's Got Talent

Obviously this year, America’s Got Talent is well aware that dance troupes are a dime a dozen. In her pep talk to Elements Dance Cru, the choreographer is seen telling the girls that they need to stand out or they’ll be just like everybody else.

Even Sharon Osbourne notes this when she asks Elements’ leader what makes them so different. The answer’s a good one – she says “We take clogging, but then we adapt it to different styles of music and add a theme and even some different styles of music within it. So it’s very unique.”

Sanjula Vamana auditions for America's Got Talent

We’ve seen contortionists and people doing incredible things with their bodies on America’s Got Talent before, but Sanjula Vamana might just have pushed us beyond what we can comfortably bear.

Dressed in Indian headgear and accompanied by a bongo player and a Gothic assistant, Sanjula proceeded to stick enormous needles through the skin of his cheeks. Obviously aware of how uncomfortable his act was to watch, the entertainer proceeded to prod the needles with his tongue, testing the nation’s gag reflexes to their absolute limits.

The Amazing Spider-Man: Watch the latest four-minute preview here!

It’s here! The bumper four-minute long preview from The Amazing Spider-Man aired in the US last night, and it features a dizzying array of action sequences, plot teases and a hilarious spot where Spidey’s greatest weakness is exposed.

Any comic book movie that dares to be released in the same year as The Avengers is a brave comic movie indeed. But to give Spider-Man his dues, this movie seems to have a good balance of sharp banter, visually stunning set pieces and the intrigue of what actually happened to Peter Parker’s parents.
