Nicole Scherzinger Steals Rachel Crow's Spotlight After Shocking X Factor Elimination

It’s been three days since Thursday’s shocking elimination on The X Factor. Though everyone should be talking about what a shame it is that one of the best singers was voted off, it appears that judge Nicole Scherzinger is the one taking all the headlines.

Even on Thursday the former-Pussycat Doll attempted to steal the spotlight as she couldn’t make the decision and instead sat at the judges table in smeared eyeliner refusing to choose between Rachel Crowe and Marcus Canty. Ultimately America made the decision when the show went into deadlock, with Canty moving on to the semifinals.

Since Thursday’s performance all the media outlets cannot stop talking about what a “heartbreaking” decision it was for Scherzinger. Even this video is circulating of the continual crying after the show.

Crowe’s name is in the headlines because it’s rumored that Disney and Nickelodeon are after the teen, but that’s it. Everyone else is focusing on the judges, further proving that the show has never been about the talent to begin with. Each week it’s almost like producers are waiting to see if Paula Abdul or Scherzinger will crack first or if Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid will get in a heated argument.

It’d be less irking if Scherzinger and Abdul contributed whatsoever to the constructive criticism. The pair simply repeat each other’s nonsense comments because they are the only ones who understand what they are trying to say. Sure, Reid is cocky and rude, but he at least has solid advice for contestants.

Maybe, just maybe, next season the judges can take a step back from their ego trips and focus on helping the TALENT get through each week, not which judge can get the most spotlight.

Actual fans of Crow shouldn’t worry, as American Idol runner-up tweeted to Crow, it’s not always about winning. “I want you to know that you are absolutely amazing. Its not about winning. It’s about letting people see who you are @iamrachelcrow.”
