Listen to the new Robbie Williams single, Candy
Part-time Take That star Robbie Williams has revealed his latest solo single Candy on The Chris Evans Show this morning, and you can hear it right here!
The incessantly chipper song is a co-write with Robbie’s old frenemy Gary Barlow. We’ve got to say, we’re a little bit surprised by the musical direction he’s taken this time round. Candy is unashamed upbeat pop with strings and brass adding a funky touch to the sound. Robbie says:
It’s a summer song about a girl who thinks she’s great. And she might be, but she’s a bit nefarious with her ways.
Candy will be the lead track from Robbie’s 9th solo album, Take The Crown, which is due to be released on 5th November. Robbie has likened the track to one of his biggest hits, Rock DJ, and it’s definitely got that fun, novelty vibe about it. We’re still hankering for a return to Robbie’s Old Before I Die style of indie rock. But that’s not coming back any time soon, is it?
Have a listen to Candy and tell us what you think…
We’re hearing the video for Candy will be released tonight at midnight, so stay tuned for that.
