Lady Gaga scores second million-selling single with ‘Bad Romance'; walk, walk fashion baby!
Lady Gaga has today claimed the second million-selling single of her career on the UK charts.
The Haus of Gaga will be celebrating this weekend as her 2009 hit Bad Romance has crossed the million copies sales barrier within the last 24 hours.
Gaga’s first track to surpass the barrier was Poker Face, which became one of the biggest selling sales of all-time in the UK.
Bad Romance first rose to the top of the Official Singles Chart back in December 2009 before being knocked off one week later by Rage Against the Machine’s Killing In The Name. However, two weeks later, Gaga walk, walk fashion baby’d her way back to the top of the charts, reclaiming the throne and also claiming the first UK number 1 single of 2010.
Only 138 tracks have managed to reach the milestone and the twelfth single to do so this year. It follows Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines FT TI and Pharrell Williams which surpassed the marker last month.
In other amazing chart statistics for you this morning, Gaga is only the sixteenth artist ever to achieve more than one million selling singles in the UK.
Sir Paul McCartney has nine to his name, Rihanna has three, as does Holly Johnson.
