The story so far is that Hit Girl (played by Chloe Grace Moretz) has been busted, so Kick-Ass (aka Dave Lizewski…aka actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson) teams up with this camoflage-wearing psychopath calling himself Colonel Stars And Stripes. Other things to love about Carrey’s costume are the patriotic decorated axe handle, which will undoubtably be used to brutal effect, and his green eye mask which is a neat colour-based callback to Carrey’s breakthrough film, The Mask.

Superbad’s Christopher Mintz-Plasse will also be returning, although his character Red Mist was last seen being shot across New York on a rocket. When he returns, the character will be reborn as the delightfully named Mother F*cker.

The film is due to be released on June 28, 2013.
