Jon Bon Jovi Will NOT Be Joining American Idol
In a recent interview about her departure from the show and her Dance Again world tour, J. Lo told ABC News that a well-known rocker would be an ideal replacement.
“I think Bono or Bon Jovi or Mick Jagger. You know me, I think big.”
However, TMZ caught up with a source “close” to JBJ who says it’s very unlikely that he would be interested in a judges seat.
“With all systems go for a new album and a mega-tour on the horizon, Jon wouldn’t be able to give those aspiring singers the guidance they deserve. Jon wouldn’t commit to anything unless he can give 100%. With planning for the next album already underway, he’s focused on the band.”
That noise you hear is my heart breaking.
Jon Bon Jovi would be the perfect replacement for Steven Tyler because they are on the same level of success. For over 30 years Bon Jovi has sat comfortably at the top of the charts, even with a genre change in recent years. JBJ even had a successful solo career in 1998 when he took a break from the band. Not only does JBJ have a great career, but he’s personable and tells it how it is. Through his experience he can truly critique the contestants so they can grow each week. This is exactly what American Idol has been missing in recent years.
Oh well, there’s always next year, right?
