Howard Stern Reaches Deal With NBC, Named Official AGT Judge
It’s official! Though we all knew it would happen in time, Howard Stern was announced the third judge for the upcoming season of “America’s Got Talent.” The shock jock is a questionable choice for some, but let’s face it.. It’s likely he’ll be more entertaining than co-judge Howie Mandel.
Executive producer Simon Cowell is excited for the change because he “likes” Stern. Though some groups are concerned that Stern is an immoral choice for judge, Cowell is convinced that Stern knows he has to behave on network television.
It’s obvious that Stern is the perfect choice for the show because it needs someone who will call it as it is. Often Stern is blasting the judges on his radio show for poor decisions, and now it’s his turn to take a stab at the job. Stern doesn’t care if he’s popular or people like him, he’s more concerned about being blunt and honest. Sure, he may have a difficult time keeping things appropriate with hot girls or people who seem off key, but overall he will be the judge the show needs. Instead of people hating Piers Morgan for being unreasonable or stuck up, you have a shock jock that really could be anyone’s incredibly vulgar friend.
Let’s just hope that it’s not a case of Ellen DeGeneres. We all know how much she loves American Idol, and we all remember what an embarrassment she was at a judge (which was so sad because everyone loves Ellen!).
Stern will fly around the country seeking talent, while the live shows will be filmed in New York City where his radio show is based.
