Game Of Thrones Season 3 adds Morocco as a filming destination
Filming Game Of Thrones involves finding the right locations to bring the world of Westeros to life on our screens. Last year, the series was filmed in such far-flung places as Northern Ireland, Iceland and Croatia. For the third season, in addition to those locations where the HBO cast and crew can usually be found, Game Of Thrones will be filming in Morocco.
And it will be the Mother Of Dragons, Daenerys Targaryen, who features heavily in this new location. Played by the ravishing Emilia Clarke, the character of Daenerys ends up in the most exotic, alien parts of George R.R. Martin’s fictional world. And since season three is said to be an adaptation of the third novel in Martin’s series, A Storm Of Swords, there will be a huge story arc for the Targaryen heir next year.
Expect a casting call for a few thousand eunuchs. That’s all I’m saying.
New Directors for Season 3
According to The Wrap, there are a series of new directors coming on board to work on Season 3 of Game Of Thrones. Even the showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will be taking a turn at directing one episode each, as well as this roster of filmmaking talent:
Other new directors coming aboard for Season 3 include Alex Graves (“The Newsroom,” “Terra Nova”) and Michelle MacLaren (“Breaking Bad”). Dan Minahan, David Nutter and Alik Sakharov, who’ve previously directed episodes of the series, will return to the director’s chair.
And in other news, people in the United Kingdom who fancy being fake murdered in the battle for the Iron Throne can sign up with Extras NI to be considered for work on the show. And let’s face it, who wouldn’t want to lose a limb or two for Westeros?
