Fringe Season 5: Spoilers for The Human Kind which guest stars Jill Scott!

Fringe - The Human Kind

Fringe‘s final season resumes on December 7, with a new episode called The Human Kind. And after the dark turn of events in recent episodes, Peter looks like he’s headed too far down the rabbit hole to ever return. Want to know more?

Backing up a little, this week we discovered that Peter now has the ability to predict the movements of Observers in the future. As the Observer tech embeds itself into his brain, Peter’s abilities are increasing, but as we’ll discover in this week’s spoiler video, the more ‘integrated’ Peter becomes with this tech, the more irreversible it is. Which means more detatched, starey Peter and less of the strong heart of the Fringe team that we know and love.

If there’s a glimmer of hope on the horizon, it’s that Walter seems to know about Peter’s transformation now. But is there anything that Walter can do to slow it down or limit its effects on Peter? We’ll just have to wait to find out.

Enter The Matrix

Things take a Matrix-y turn of events as Windmark and his associates realise that Peter is tracking them. In the trailer we hear Windmark claiming to Peter that everything is proceeding according to his plan – which seems to include Peter’s conversion to bald-headed prophet of doom. We’ve seen Windmark ‘observing’ Peter’s changes from a distance already, so it seems plausible and not the idle bragging of an all-powerful villain.

Keeping with the Matrix theme, Peter and Windmark will face off in what could be the sci-fi fight scene of the year. Both using the full capacity of their powers, you’ll see them ploughing each other into walls and using their teleportation abilities to disappear and confuse their opponent. This looks awesome!

Elsewhere, Olivia meets an oracle in the shape of guest star Jill Scott. According to the synopsis, she’ll provide the key to another piece of Walter’s plan to defeat the Observers. But if the teaser clip is anything to go by, Olivia will find herself with guns pointed at her head too…

‘The Human Kind’ synopsis

Olivia encounters a very intuitive and oracle-like person named Simone (guest star Jill Scott) as she looks to recover a key piece of equipment for Walter. Meanwhile, Peter finds himself in a perilous situation as he observes Windmark (guest star Michael Kopsa).
