Dry The River announce debut album Shallow Bed
Hot on the heels of their Sound Of 2012 nomination yesterday, Dry The River have released the details of their debut album, Shallow Bed. Talk about riding the wave, right?
Still, you’ve got another few months to wait for the album, because it’s released on 5th March 2012 through RCA Victor. The album was produced by Interpol’s Peter Katis at his studio in Connecticut.
Discussing the decision to work with Katis, Dry The River frontman Peter Liddle said:
We were looking for someone who could strike a balance between lo-fi and hi-fi. We wanted to record the bulk of it to tape, to use analogue stuff in favour of computer wizardry where possible, but without it sounding like an old folk record. I think we tried to preserve the fragility and honesty of the more stripped down tracks, but still get the intensity of the live show across too – to marry those two aspects of our music without it sounding incongruous.
The next single from Shallow Bed is The Chamber & The Valves and it’ll be released on 27 February 2012.
