It’s here! The bumper four-minute long preview from The Amazing Spider-Man aired in the US last night, and it features a dizzying array of action sequences, plot teases and a hilarious spot where Spidey’s greatest weakness is exposed.
Any comic book movie that dares to be released in the same year as The Avengers is a brave comic movie indeed. But to give Spider-Man his dues, this movie seems to have a good balance of sharp banter, visually stunning set pieces and the intrigue of what actually happened to Peter Parker’s parents.
Sin City creator and comic book legend Frank Miller has confirmed that he’s currently working on a sequel to 2005′s Sin City movie. In an interview with MTV, Miller confirmed that the sequel will be based largely on the Sin City comic A Dame To Kill For, but that it’ll also feature some new character-based stories that he’s created specifically for this adaptation.
Since A Dame To Kill For – in the comic book chronology at least – precedes the story in the original Sin City movie, it looks like some rejigging has taken place to provide better continuity between the two movies. Miller told MTV:
Nothing piques our interest more than blurry photos from movie sets. And this one should be no exception – it’s supposedly a picture from the set of the new Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises.
The shots were taken by Jason Croddy in Los Angeles, and sent to this site. Geeks Of Doom describe the character as a “grim-reaper” type character, but all that’s clear is that it’s a man and he has grey hair. Judging from the full-length shots, the robe seems to be in two parts – a hooded outer layer with a longer, darker layer underneath.
Marvel’s upcoming Avengers movie is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious cinematic projects in years – they’ve managed in a few short years to establish Thor, Iron Man and Captain America in standalone adventures, and now they’re uniting these heroes (plus the actors who played them) in one bumper comicbook extravaganza!
The first part of what will undoubtedly be an exhaustive marketing campaign for The Dark Knight Rises has hit the internets. It comes in the form of a 1:35 minute teaser trailer which is frustratingly content-free.
