Coldplay don elephant costumes for their new Paradise video

Coldplay - Paradise elephant

How can we be sure Chris Martin is inside the costume?

We’re not huge fans of Coldplay here at Unreality TV, but their new single Paradise has caught our attention.

The band have just released the video for Paradise, which features them (or four random actors?) dressed up in velour elephant costumes as the Chris Martin elephant makes his way across continents to rejoin his bandmates.

There’s clearly some message about fraternity or belonging or even ecology hidden in the video. Or is there? Probably not.

The video for Paradise was directed by Mat Whitecross and was filmed in South Africa and London. So far, we’re loving the light synth touches on the track which transform the Coldplay sound and give the band an entirely different feel while still retaining Chris Martin’s trademark vocals.

Paradise will be the lead single from Coldplay’s fifth studio album, Mylo Xyloto. The US release of the single is 24 October 2011. Elsewhere this week, iTunes are streaming a new track from the album each day, and the band have launched an app on their official website to allow fans to create a personalised Mylo Xyloto album cover to use on social media sites.
