Bryan Cranston Addresses Those Lex Luthor Rumors Regarding the SUPERMAN/BATMAN Film
So one thing that has been on my mind these last few days is the rumor we reported last week about the possibility of Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston playing Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder’s white-hot Superman/Batman film. I keep imagining him in full character with that same beastly intensity he applies to his performance as Walter White and it seems absolutely wonderful.
Well, it turns out the folks over at Metro were curious as well, so they did the logical thing – they asked him. Here’s what Cranston had to say when asked about the idea:
“Give me a call,” he says with a grin. And to hear Cranston tell it, he’s already given some thought as to getting into Luthor’s psyche. “I like Lex Luthor. I think he’s misunderstood. He’s a loveable, sweet man,” Cranston says.
Huzzah! I hope he’s serious. I never would have thought about Cranston for the evil Luthor, but now he’s the only actor I can imagine. However, let’s consider the other side to that report: Mark Strong is apparently Cranston’s competition. If Snyder was smart, he’d borrow some of that excess lightning that Cranston will leave in the wake of the culmination of Breaking Bad .
It could be that Cranston is simply humoring the reporter with nonsensical responses, but I have to hope that his statements hold some credibility. Anywho, I have to go. Snyder and Christopher Nolan are auditioning me for the character of “Robin”. I’ll let you all know how it goes!
