The final season of The Big C is coming up soon, and Showtime have released a new teaser video for Hereafter (what the shorter, four episode final season will be subtitled).

After Cathy sailed off into the sunset with a non-English speaking fisherman at the end of the last episode, we wondered what the future would hold for her. Her marriage with Paul was on the rocks. Really. He was off philandering with someone he’d met at a motivational seminar. Her son Adam was still being a Grade A douchebag, and she’d got the news that her cancer was returning.

So what’s in store for The Big C: Hereafter? Well, sit down, because it might be suicide.

Well, it’s just one theory. Watch the video and you’ll see Cathy talking about how “There was something beautiful about Marlene. The way she left.” Could it be that Cathy is considering a quick get-away if her cancer gets the better of her? We also see her talking to Adam about the possibility of stopping her chemotherapy, which could be a sign that the end is in sight.

Elsewhere, it’s clear that Cathy’s still making big changes in her life. There’s a new, shorter haircut for Laura Linney, and she’s quit her job as a school teacher. And are Cathy and Paul back together again? There’s a hint that this might be the case. Watch the teaser and see for yourself:
