America's Got Talent's Nick Cannon to Make Directorial Debut

Mild kidney failure isn’t going to slow America’s Got Talent host Nick Cannon down. The New York Post reports that he is preparing to direct his first feature film.

Nick describes the film, produced by Lionsgate, as “today’s version of ‘House Party.’” He adds, “[I’m] taking a lot of the young hip-hop acts of today and putting them in a movie with a bunch of comedians, make something happen there.”

The movie is just the latest gig for the star who will continue to host AGT, MTV’s “Wild ‘n Out” and his radio show “Rollin’ With Nick Cannon.”

Over New Year’s Nick was hospitalized for mild kidney failure. Despite his health scare, he sees it just as a “setback.” He recently told EXTRA, “It was one of those things, you work through it. A little setback at the beginning of the year, but we moving now! We good.”

As for his choice to take on so much work? “I can’t stop, man! You get only one chance in life!”
