American Idol’s Scotty McCreery Returning Home for Senior Year
Scotty McCreery won American Idol at only 17-years-old, the youngest American Idol to date. Despite his fame and busy schedule, the country crooner plans on returning to his Garner, North Carolina high school to complete his senior year.
In between touring the winner’s been hard at work on his debut album, “Clear as Day.” Despite a likely upcoming tour and heavy promotions for the album McCreery told Good Morning America about his next move.
“After the album I’m going back to school. It’s my senior year and I’m not going to miss out on those memories… I’ll still be working,” he said.
As for the album he admits he’s “very proud” of his work so far. McCreery told fans on his mailing list that the album is “definitely country and it’s definitely me.” Songs vary from old country to contemporary, “fun up-tempo songs.”
“Clear as Day” is available October 4.
