American Idol's Jennifer Lopez to Produce MTV Comedy and Carmen Sandiego Film

As if Jennifer Lopez doesn’t have enough on her plate at the moment, it appears that she’s got one more TV show in the works. Currently J.Lo is filming Q’Viva with ex-hubby Marc Anthony and popping around the country for American Idol auditions in between movie projects and launching her clothing line.

Now Lopez is working with Grace Parra to develop a comedy for MTV. The currently untitled project will follow Lina Molina, a recent college graduate who moves from New York to Texas due to economic stress of being in the “real world.” Molina is a bonified city girl who uses the opportunity to reconnect with her eccentric Mexican family.

It’s also rumored that J.Lo is looking to produce the movie adaptation of Carmen Sandiego. This franchise was popular in the early 90s with a variety of educational video and board games as well as a popular television game show. In the early 90s Disney attempted a similar flick for Sandra Bullock, but the film never saw production. Though J.Lo would be great as the infamous caper, there’s no word if she’ll star in the movie as well.

Until then it’s time to count down the days to J.Lo’s return on American Idol, January 22!
