Mr. and Mrs. Danny Gokey Greet Fans

Fans lined up today for a chance to see Milwaukee’s favorite American , Idol alumn, Danny Gokey, as the season eight contestant debuted his new eyewear line at Wisconsin Vision in Pewaukee, Wisconsin. Gokey was known for his creative eyewear each week on American Idol, so it’s only appropriate that his name now graces the high-end, but affordable designs.

Gokey spoke to OnMilwaukee.com about his decision to launch an eyewear line. “I always dreamed of getting my own line of glasses. I’ve been working with Wisconsin Vision and Match Eyewear on the The Danny Gokey Collection. There are 13 styles in three or four different colors each. Four more styles are coming out this fall, and some sunglasses. They’re “geek chic” but go beyond that, too.”

Today fans not only got a peek at the upcoming styles, but were treated to a six song performance and meet and greet. Fans braved the heat for a photo with Milwaukee’s hometown hero and had the opportunity to hear songs he is working on for his upcoming album. Gokey just signed to new management and is shopping for a new label in Nashville, noting that fans can expect a new LP in 2013.
