American Idol and The Voice Take Over the 2012 Grammy Awards (Photos and Videos)
If anyone ever needs proof what an impact talent competitions have on the music industry, look at the most anticipated night of the year- the Grammy Awards. From the red carpet to live performances, take a look at American Idol, Q’Viva, Dancing With the Stars and The Voice’s biggest stars at the 2012 Grammy Awards.
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert made a cute appearance on the red carpet together before the show began. Throughout the night the couple was shown in the audience holding hands and embracing. Blake also joined a tribute to the country legend Glen Campbell.
Carrie Underwood was one of our favorites, appearing in two gorgeous dresses. She simply dazzled on the red carpet before appearing with Tony Bennett to sing a song from his latest album, “Duets II.” How gorgeous was her second dress?
Former Dancing With the Stars dancer Julianna Hough was spotted on the red carpet with boyfriend Ryan Seacrest.
Q’Viva: The Chosen’s Marc Anthony gave away the first televised award of the night with Black Eyed Peas’ Fergie. He stumbled through his script, but it’s likely the language barrier.
The Voice coach Adam Levine made jaws drop as he and model girlfriend walked the red carpet. Her dress was almost as scandalous as Jennifer Lopez’s infamous Versace dress. Levine appeared on stage later that night in a Beach Boys tribute (introduced by American Idol host Ryan Seacrest).
The original American Idol, Kelly Clarkson, appeared on stage with Jason Aldean to perform their Grammy-nominated duet “Don’t You Wanna Stay.” Despite technical difficulties, they sounded and looked great!
The most talked about moment of the night goes to American Idol alumn Jennifer Hudson. The diva belted out a touching tribute of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”
