American Idol 2013: Three Chicago Auditions We Wish We Could Unsee
Though American Idol is known for its “bad auditions,” Chicago had few uncomfortable auditions. Though not everyone was perfect, the talent was high. These three auditions may be memorable for their quirkiness.
Austin Earles
One golden rule is to avoid singing the judge’s songs for auditions, especially if you can’t sing. Mariah Carey look mortified as Aaron attempted her number one hit “Fantasy,” while Nick Minaj was “really enjoying it.”
Melissa Bush
The massage therapist showed up in Chicago with a pink “shiny” jumpsuit to show the judges her personality. Too bad she fell flat with her almost eerie rendition of “Downtown.”
Kevin Nabity
Poor Kevin Nabity was convinced he was a rapper, singer and martial arts expert. Did you know the natural progression in life is from rapping to dancing to martial arts? You learn something new every day! Kevin bombed his American Idol audition because he’s not a great singer, but he’s memorable because I’ve never seen someone sing Barenaked Ladies’ “One Week” so quickly. Maybe lay off the caffeine young man..
