The rumours you’ve been hearing about Adele being pregnant are true! The singer confirmed today that she and her boyfriend Simon Konecki are expecting their first child.

You know what this means? Well, if Adele keeps to her tried and tested formula of writing about autobiographical events, her next album (possibly titled 25) will be about the joys of changing nappies, painful breastfeeding and sleep deprivation. Just a guess…

Anyway, Adele confirmed the pregnancy today on her official website:

I’m delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we’re over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx

According to sources, Adele (24) and Konecki (36) have been getting increasingly serious about their relationship with rumours of a wedding this year – which news of a baby may help to speed along:

She wants to get married this year. She’s been longing to settle down with a man who will treat her well. She feels Simon is the one — and doesn’t see the point in waiting.
